    Klerksdorp Rekord, Hartbeesfontein - Twee mans is in hegtenis geneem in verband met die skietdood van ‘n enkelma van Hartbeesfontein gedurende ‘n strooptog verlede week op die dorp.

    Hartbeesfontein is nog steeds geruk oor die gebeure wat gedurende Donderdagnag 23/24 November afgespeel het. Rowers het binne ‘n kwessie van minute by drie huise toegeslaan, ingebreek en waardevolle items gesteel. ‘n Enkelma wat aandag van haar tienerdogter probeer aftrek het, is tydens die eerste rooftog doodgeskiet.

     

     

     
  • Orkney says NO to new mine

    Klerksdorp Record, Orkney - Residents of Orkney are not impressed with CAPM’s plans to develop a new mine shaft “basically on our doorstep’’.

    At a meeting held on Thursday November 23 Soekie Swanepoel said she is not planning to sit on her doorstep and look at a mine in front of her house. She was especially concerned about the impact that mining in the area in such a close proximity to several neighbourhoods, could have on residents’ health.

     

     
  • Stock theft on the rise in NW

    Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - As the Christmas holiday approaches, members of the community and various sectors of the society are urged to be vigilant and work with the police in the fight against crime.

    Stock theft is one of the crimes that tend to escalate during this period. In a recent incident in Bloemhof, the police were alerted of two stolen bulls worth R160 000. “Apparently the bulls were going to be slaughtered for N initiation ceremony at Boitumelong and a police team descended on Bloemhof over the weekend.
