Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The third Trauma First Responder Chaplaincy Awards Ceremony was held in the city last week.
According to Madeleine Pieters, Trauma First Responder Chaplaincy NPC Chief Chaplain, the purpose of this event was to honour and acknowledge the individuals who make a difference and co-operate closely with the Chaplaincy with dedication and excellence.
“In addition, they are commended for their dedication and professionalism towards their unique professions and to show appreciation for the difference they make in their community. Operational members of various categories were awarded for their dedication and excellence in their co-operation and commitment towards the Chaplaincy,” she said.
The awards were handed over on Thursday November 27 at Vintage Affair.
Dedication Awards were handed to EMS (received by André Venter), Fast Medical Response: Fire & Rescue (received by Lungiswa Mathumbu of Matlosana Fire & Rescue), SAPS (received by W/O Manka Mokoena), Private Security Reaction Officer (received by Bertus Roos of Prowatch Security), as well as the Provincial Traffic Matlosana Team 6 in the Traffic category, Aldus Smit of the
NWU in the category Providing Dedicated Support to First Responders and Lungiswa Mathumbu, as the Most Presentable & Professional First Responder.
The Excellence Awards winners are EMS (Marga Beeslaar), Fire & Rescue (Potchefstroom Fire Protection Association WoF Team), SAPS (Sgt Juanita Olyn), Traffic Department (Supt Dennis Makudubele, Matlosana Traffic) and Private Security Reaction Officer (Dexter Venter, Prowatch Security).
The Bravery Award was awarded to Ofentse Hendrik Marope and John Majola of Potchefstroom Fire Protection Association.
