Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - A motorcycle theft syndicate operates so fast that they managed to get away in under three minutes after breaking and entering a motorcycle showroom.
Henry Fuller of Daly BMW lost two bikes recently after the brazen thieves knocked out showroom windows on two separate occasions. In both instances, it was a hit and run job.
Damages to the tune of R1 million was caused. The thieves target BMW GS model bikes ranging R100 000 and R500 000.
He is now offering a substantial reward for any information that will lead to the positive identification and arrest of the culprits.
On CCTV footage you can clearly see how the thieves arrive in a white bakkie, four jump off the back, hit the window with a hammer and then remove the bike from the showroom. The last incident was in pouring rain in the early morning hours of November 16. “I suspect the bikes are sold for their parts because they cannot be driven without the programmed key fob,’’ he said.
