  • Bullets hit car

Lentswe, Orkney - A mother and her teenage son had a narrow escape when shots were fired at her car. They were in Goueweg near the intersection to Vaal Reefs on the R502 at 16:00 on Monday afternoon March 11 when the drive home turned into a nightmare.
“At first I thought someone crashed into us from behind when I felt the impact. I looked around and saw that it was not a car. Then there was another blow and I was convinced that we were being pelted with stones, because I have already heard that it happened there.
“The only thing that went through my mind was keeping my child safe. I told him to keep his head down and not to look back no matter what happened. I was really scared.’’ She continued driving and first stopped at Orkney Police Station where she told police officers what had happened.
