Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Leano La Bophelo is a non-profit organization founded by Rathebe Michael Mojaki with the aim of promoting history and creating jobs for the community. The group is known for its commitment in hosting Heritage events for Matlosana community as it was leased for Goudkoppie Heritage Site by the Matlosana Municipality. This year more than 900 plus people attended the event on September 24 to celebrate heritage.
Phodiso celebrates first annual conference
Lentswe, Kanana - Phodiso Worship, led by Apostle TD Mofokeng Centre, hosted its inaugural conference. The conference took place at Bothaville, Naledi, within a sub-circuit of the church overseen by Mod N Mofokeng. The conference was moving and impactful, with a strong sense of God’s presence felt right from the start, as the attendees experienced a street revival while approaching the venue in the small town. This drew numerous youth and older individuals to commit their lives to the Lord.
Matrics of 2005 to give back
Lentswe, Alabama - The matrics of Alabama Seconday 2005 will be celebrating their 20 year reunion at Rosemary’s on October 11. Twenty learners will be giving back to their alma mater. They will buy projectors for the school and small goodies for the teachers invited, the old principal and the current principal. They want this sign of goodwill to serve as inspiration to others.
Anglicans to host a gala
Lentswe, Klerksdorp - The Anglican Diocese of Matlosane will be hosting a gala event on Saturday September 20 at the Rio Convention Centre. The event is held to raise funds for the diocese and will start at 13:00. It is featuring a guest speaker, Prof Onkgopotse JJ Tabane. Prof Tabane is a South African communications strategist, political commentator, businessman, and television presenter.
Chiefs supporters reach out to the community
The Leeudoringstad Kaizer Chiefs supporters’ club reached out to a family of four with no income. Their RDP house is in disrepair, with broken windows and dysfunctional electricity. The members replaced broken windows, replaced worn curtains, donated a bed and clothing and they contacted the authorities to help the parents with identity documents. Plastering and painting will be done soon.
