Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Two local opera singers competed in a prestigious competition in Pretoria over the weekend and they are through to the final. Tshepo Makabe, bass-baritone, and Lebogang Polori, mezzo soprano, competed in the Soli competition of the Tshwane Choral Music Association at Eersterus Hall on Saturday July 27. The competition saw 54 singers taking part and both were invited back to compete in the final in November. Tshepo and Lebogang go to the same church, Uniting Reformed Church (Modimo wa Boikanyo). Their love for choral and opera music started there, from intermediate to senior choir and they further sang for community choirs.

Lentswe, Klerksdorp - The Matlosana municipality made it clear that they do not sell any posts and no one should pay for any position in order for them to be employed. They also warned anyone who is found to be selling jobs at the municipality.

Lentswe, Klerksdorp - In celebrating 67 minutes of Mandela Day, Leano la Bophelo, a non-profit organization, organized a cultural event which was coupled with a flea market for artists and crafters to showcase their talent and sell their products and services. 

Lentswe, Jouberton - Phodiso Worship Centre was blessed with the presence of the new Executive Mayor of the City of Matlosana, Fikile Mahlope, on Sunday July 21. He was accompanied by his family, Sello Molefi, Meokgo Mokgatla and his team. The reason of visiting the church as said in his speech was to go back and celebrate with those who always prayed for him.
