MAHIKENG MAIL-MAHIKENG: Deputy Minister responsible for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Pinky Kekana, Dr Chana Pilane Majake, the Deputy Minister for Public Service and Administration supported by MEC for Education Viola Motsumi and Tswaing Local Municipality Mayor Norah Mahlangu conducted an oversight visit at Deelpan. The purpose of the visit was to assess the progress of the government integrated efforts to restore and rebuilding houses for the residents of Deelpan. 
Deelpan residents were affected by prolonged heavy rainfall between December 2021 and March 2022 resulted in over 75 percent of the village being submerged on water.
The oversight visit also commemorated Human rights month and entailed walk about in the village.
The Deelpan Flood Disasters Monitoring Task Team, chaired by the Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, working with Sector Departments has facilitated key interventions in terms of human settlements, health, poverty alleviation, and socio-economic programmes, amongst others. The delegation visited a school, library, clinic, plantations, housing development, and a local hospice.
