Klerksdorp Midweek, Johannesburg - The Top 30 contestants vying for the title of Miss South Africa 2024 arrived in Johannesburg last week, and have an action-packed schedule of interviews, photo shoots and workshops ahead of them. The selection panel who will be selecting those who continue their Miss South Africa journey from this impressive group of 30 are: actress, model and media personality, Lerato Kganyago; actress, presenter, voice artist, model, author and entrepreneur, Leandie du Randt, who also served as a judge last year, and CEO of the Miss South Africa Organisation, Stephanie Weil.
Praying for the election
Congregations of local churches came together on Sunday afternoon May 26 to pray for the national election that is happening this week. People from all walks of life headed the call and pitched up at the rugby field of Hoërskool Wesvalia in an hour of prayer for the future of the country.
Two Potch ladies vying for Miss SA crown
Klerksdorp Midweek, Potchefstroom - North West has two contestants vying for the Miss South Africa 2024 crown. Johaneske Pelzer (23) and Onalenna Constantin (26) are both from Potchefstroom. The finalists come from eight of South Africa’s nine provinces: Gauteng leads the field with 14 contestants (with two each from Pretoria and Soweto); KwaZulu Natal has four; the Eastern Cape and Mpumalanga have three each with Limpopo and North West fielding two each while Free State and Western Cape have one.
Musikon presents heartstrings
Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - The NW Musikon’s Heartstrings Project, their charity fundraiser, is gaining momentum. This year they have chosen “Mosterdsaad Gemeenskaphulp” as their beneficiary for the project. The Heartstrings project aims to raise funds and product donations through various means, the primary being the Heartstrings concert, which will take place on Friday May 31 at 18:00.

Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - The 2024 national and provincial elections will take place on Wednesday May 29. Every voter will get three ballot papers on Voting Day: the National Compensatory ballot, the National Regional ballot and the Provincial Legislature ballot. What are they? The National Compensatory Ballot is the same across the entire country. It features political parties ONLY, contesting for seats in the National Assembly.
