BONUS - RUSTENBURG - The South African Police Service (SAPS) has alerted the public to be cautious, as false social media postings regarding recruitment for trainees are doing the rounds.
SAPS has indicated that they are concerned over these false statements, as online applications for police trainees have not yet been advertised and the online application portal is not available at this stage.

"We appeal to social media users to be responsible and to refrain from spreading misinformation," commented olonel Adelé Myburgh, Provincial Spokesperson for SAPS.
Citizens have been asked to be vigilant and to only use the official, verified SAPS website (www.saps.gov.za) to be informed of vacancies or any other police issued statement.
