  • THS bans matrics from farewell

    Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - A group of balaclava-wearing matrics who caused a ruckus at THS, are lucky to be allowed to write their prelim exams.


    This group, comprising of 13 matrics, were hauled over the coals after a video went viral on social media showing their unruly behaviour towards a teacher. The learners were unhappy about the school’s decision not to have a forty days celebration and went ahead disrupting school despite being forbidden to do something.

    Klerksdorp Rekord, Klerksdorp - Die onlangse voorval waar ‘n vermeende dief doodgeskiet is toe hy probeer het om ‘n jetski te steel, het baie vrae laat ontstaan oor die regsaspekte van die saak.

    Die AfriForum-buurtwag in Songloed het op 21 Augustus ’n opleidingsgeleentheid oor regsaspekte vir die plaaslike gemeenskap aangebied. Marnus Kamfer, AfriForum se regs-en-risiko-bestuurder het die opleiding aangebied. Die opleiding was gebaseer op die vrae: “Wanneer mag ek skiet?” en “Ek het geskiet, wat nou?” 

     

     

  • Police, SARS combine forces

    Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The police and customs officials of SARS confiscated illegal cigarettes and alcohol in Klerksdorp, and neighbouring Potchefstroom and Ikageng.

    These operations took place between August 18 and 20, and were conducted by the Provincial Commercial Crime Investigation Unit (CCIU) and Crime Intelligence members in conjunction with customs officials, to enforce the Customs and Excise Act. The following items worth R236 740 were confiscated: six master cases of cigarettes; 645 cartons of cigarettes; 185 packets of cigarettes; five boxes of hubbly bubbly; 158 cartons of hubbly bubbly and another 266 packets of hubbly bubbly.
