Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - Construction of Lenmed’s new state-of-the-art heart centre at Wilmed Park Private Hospital is progressing well.

“With five hospitals strategically positioned in the region, Lenmed is poised to spearhead the development of advanced cardiology services to benefit the local community. The new heart centre will feature a fully equipped cardiology unit, including state-of-the-art cardiothoracic surgery facilities and a specialized critical care unit (CCU),” said hospital CEO Alex Daneel.

According to him, this expansion aims to provide comprehensive care for patients with acute and chronic heart conditions, ensuring that individuals in the NW have access to top-tier medical expertise close to home.

Construction of the heart centre is already underway, and the facility is expected to be fully operational in the second half of this year. “As a leading healthcare provider in the province, we are committed to continuously improving the standard of care available to our patients,” he said.

He added the development of this centre is a testament to their dedication to delivering advanced medical interventions and life-saving treatments to those in need.

”Lenmed remains at the forefront of healthcare innovation, consistently investing in infrastructure, technology, and medical expertise to meet the growing demands of the communities it serves. This expansion represents another step forward in the group’s long-standing commitment to improving health outcomes across South Africa.’’

The group also boasts the only hospitals on the continent to be accredited by the American College of Cardiology.
