Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - Klerksdorp Technical High School’s Hope Offor recently obtained her North West colours for the under 18’s lawn bowls team.

Hope will participate in the national under 18’s tournament to be held in Bloemfontein during March school holidays.

She started playing lawn bowls four years ago when she was 12 years old. She always accompanied her granny, Sega Magoto who is one of the top players in North West and SANDF, to bowling practices and was inspired by her granny to try her hand at bowls. The rest is history with Hope rewriting the books that bowling is only for pensioners.

Hope has represented North West on numerous occasions in various age group tournaments. Her ultimate dream is to represent South Africa at the 2032 Olympics to be held in Australia.

Hope says she enjoys the competitive nature of the sport and the social interaction with fellow players.

She trains and plays at Klerksdorp Bowls Club and invites other kids to join her at KBC.

KBC wishes Hope all the best for the upcoming tournament and will follow her progress with pride, says André Olivier.
