Lentswe, Alabama - The Brigade of Alabama represented Klerksdorp at the 10th Annual Regional Drill and Orchestral Competition held in Reigerpark. They competed against six other communities and emerged victorious with an impressive 24 trophies, showing improvement from last year’s 18 trophies.

The Alabama Brigade excelled in various categories, including drill instruction, drill performances, neatness, and orchestral play, amongst others. Their dedication, discipline, and teamwork earned them not only top positions but also a special trophy for being the largest participating group at the competition.

The Brigade extends deep gratitude to all participating children and parents for their unwavering commitment and teamwork. “We salute you for refusing to submit to the social ills that destroy futures, and for choosing dedication, discipline, and service instead,” said Lenvin Mafulako, Chairperson/Captain for the Alabama Brigade.

As the group celebrates this remarkable victory, they look forward to strengthening partnerships that empower and uplift the youth of Matlosana.

“May this achievement be the beginning of many more successful opportunities for our young people,” Mafulako added.
