Lentswe, Ikageng - You can help make a girl’s acting dreams come true. Sibongile May finished matric at Mohadin in Potchefstroom in 2022 and she received a partial scholarship to study acting at one of the world’s most acclaimed schools in New York. Her partial scholarship at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) will cover tuition, but she needs money for living expenses and other costs. “I still need R838 058 ($44 690). That is a lot of money. I know. But it is worth it,’’ she told Lentswe.

She has Klerksdorp roots, as her mother works at Western Bazaars in Klerksdorp.

“I rely on the generosity of the community to help me achieve my goals.

“Your belief in me and my dreams means the world, and I am committed to working hard and making the most of this incredible opportunity,” she said.

Acting has been her life-long passion and the school in New York is one of the best in the world.

Sibongile is scheduled to start het studies in January, but she can move the date.

Some of the alumni of AMDA include Tyne Daly, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Michelle Visage, among many others.
