Lentswe, Stilfontein - Six houses in Stilfontein that were fingered as drug dens were searched and the police busted five people and confiscated drugs. This operation on Tuesday August 26 was aimed to curb drug-related crimes in town, said Brig Sabata Mokgwabone, police spokesperson. Out of the six residences that was searched, the police found drugs at three addresses.

“At one of the identified places, a suspect was found inside the toilet flushing away drugs,’’ Mokgwabone said. 

In total, five suspects were arrested: two (aged 53 and 62) for possession of drugs; a 21-year-old was nabbed for unlawful possession of several rounds of R1 and .38 ammunition; another one (36) for possession of drugs; a 36 year-old for possession of drugs, and, in a separate arrest over the weekend, a man was arrested for cable theft. 

“The operation led to the confiscation of drugs such as cocaine, crystal meth, tik, mandrax, as well as R1 and .38 Special ammunition,” said Mokgwabone.
