Lentswe, Klerksdorp - The North West Gambling Board presented an awareness campaign at the Terminus Shopping Centre to educate people about the difference between licensed and unlicensed gambling.
The board highlighted the risks associated with, when participating in gambling activities and emphasized that there are two types of gamblers: social and problem gamblers. 
The community was advised to gamble responsibly and be aware of when to stop, especially for gambling winners.
The North West Gambling Board urged the community to report any sort of illegal gambling or illegal gambling licenses to the NW Gambling Board hotline on 0860 545 545.

Lentswe, Klerksdorp - In preparation of President Cyril Ramaphosa’s visit on Friday October 20, Minister Sihle Zikalala for Public Works and Infrastructure visited the Klerksdorp Correctional Centre earlier this week to inspect the renovation of the facility. The facility is currently undergoing renovations to the tune of R94.4 million.It is an extensive initiative aimed at upgrading facilities and enhancing living conditions for inmates.

Lentswe, Jouberton - A teenager in the township tasted tinned fish while her aunt was cooking with it. It tasted “weird.”. According to Patience Galane, Asanda tasted the tinned fish on Tuesday October 17 and she started feeling ill very quickly. That’s when she checked the expiration date. “The fish expired in March this year, but it was still on the shelves. I went to the tuckshop to complain and asked the owner to take the tins off the shelf. What if a child dies after eating  it?”
She went back to the shop and the stock was indeed removed from the shelf. She intends to go with the owner to the store where he bought it.

Lentswe, Jouberton - A 40-year-old mother is still unconscious in hospital after her roommate discovered her lifeless body in the hostel room they shared. Her three year old daughter who was also in the room, was dead. Lt Col Amanda Funani, police spokesperson, said speculation that the mother and child ingested poison is at this stage premature.
