Lentswe, Jouberton - The local police need information from the community to help solve two brutal murders that rocked this township recently. In both crimes, vulnerable people were attacked. In the first incident, Motseothata Itumeleng (42) was attacked on June 30 by the community after he was accused of taking part in a robbery. He is described as mentally challenged.

Lentswe, Tigane - As part of commemorating Women’s Day, the MEC for Department of Human Settlements in North West, Oageng Molapisi, handed over a house to the Molifi family in Tigane Ext 6 on Women’s Day. Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Last week’s high density operations conducted by the police and other law enforcement authorities in North West, led to the arrest of 828 suspects for various offences. According to Col Adéle Myburgh, police spokesperson, a total of 31 operations were conducted between Tuesday August 6 and Sunday August 11. This included 14 roadblocks, police searched 49 premises, 2006 persons, 1022 vehicles and closed down seven unlicensed liquor premises.

Lentswe, Klerksdorp - An admin clerk working at Supply Chain Management (SCM) at Jouberton SAPS appeared in the Klerksdorp Magistrates’ Court last week. Goitseone Johnson Julius Kgoele (48) was charged with fraud. He appeared on August 6 and was released on a warning. The case was postponed to September 27.  It is alleged that Kgoele tampered with a fuel claim earlier this year.

Lentswe, Klerksdorp - When factoring in discouraged work seekers, the North West province has more unemployed people than working!
Only one province - the North West - has more adults out of work and not looking than people who are employed, with an unemployment rate of 54.2%. However, the Eastern Cape is at a tipping point and could soon join the North West, as its unemployment rate is 49.7%.
