Lentswe, Jouberton - Letona FC & Entertainment donated 50 pairs of school shoes to four local primary schools. The handover took place at Letona Sports Ground on Sunday January 25. The beneficiary schools are Ithuseng Primary School, Zamakulunga Primary School, Khayalethu Primary School, and Sediko Primary School. Each school identified 12 learners in need to receive the donation, ensuring that the assistance reaches those most affected.
According to the organisers, the initiative was inspired by the 2026 school year starting and the emotional reality faced by many children who return to school wearing worn-out or casual shoes due to hardships they face in their respective households.
“It is heartbreaking to see learners start the school year without proper school shoes. This initiative is our way of restoring dignity and giving children confidence as they return to the classroom,” the organisers said.
Beyond the donation drive, the day also featured a 4-a-side Under-15 soccer tournament, aimed at promoting youth development, sportsmanship, and positive social engagement. The event conclude with Music Soul Sessions, showcasing local DJs and celebrating community talent.
