Klerksdorp Midweek, Potchefstroom - The SA National Blood Service (SANBS) will host the first, 1 Day - 1 Nation - 5000 Units of Blood campaign in the hopes of collecting 5 000 units of blood on Saturday April 13.

“We are very excited to host this campaign and hope that all South Africans who are eligible to donate blood will support us on this day,” says Marike Carli, Public Relations Manager for the WCBS.

In North West, the event will be held at Waterfall Mall in Rustenburg, Sediba Plaza in Hartebeespoort and MooiRivier Mall in Potchefstroom.

The blood service anticipate blood stock shortages leading up to the winter. Blood stock levels are already declining.

“Right now, we need all the help we can get - from current and potential donors. Moreover, we ask South Africans to become regular donors. By donating blood regularly, we can easily maintain safe stock levels throughout the year,” says Thandi Mosupye, Senior Manager: Marketing, Communication and Brand for the SANBS.

Join SANBS from 09:00 - 16:00 at the three NW venues and various malls countrywide.
