Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - Sassa confirmed grant payment dates for October. The old age grant will be paid on Thursday October 2, the disability grant on October 3 and the child and all other grants on October 6. Payments for the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant will begin in the first week of October.
SRD beneficiaries are not paid on the same day, but rather in batches.
Sassa also reminds all new applicants of its mandatory biometric enrolment in an effort to curb fraud.
From September 1, all new grant applications required a fingerprint or facial scan. So far, more than 42 000 clients have been enrolled at 432 Sassa offices.
