BRITS POS – BRITS – On Tuesday evening, 16 April around 19:50 motor vehicles were travelling on the N4 direction Pretoria and a number of kilometers after exiting the Brits Toll Plaza, a man who was driving from Rustenburg to Pretoria with his father, hit one of the rocks that were placed on the road by thugs, which caused a puncture to one of the tyres.
They stopped on the side of the road to inspect the damage and the driver called his cousin to inform him about their dilemma.
Then they were approached by three males, demanding money and their belongings.

Die wildstropery is egter nie beperk tot ons gebied nie, want daar is dikwels mediakommentaar daaroor; die onwettige handel in renosterhorings en hoe ander diere, seelewe en voëls hulle weg vind na Oosterse markte en tradisionele genesers vir muti-gebruike of bosvleis. Die aasvoëls in ons gebied is onlangs herontplooi na ‘n veiliger habitat.
HARTBEESPOORT - Foreign nationals arrested for illegal mining and equipment confiscated
BRITS POS – HARTBEESPOORT – Six suspects were arrested and various illegal mining equipment confiscated in a multi-disciplinary operation in Hartbeespoort on Wednesday, 3 April.
Four of the six suspects who are from Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Malawi, appeared before the Brits Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 5 April and were remanded in custody until Tuesday, 23 and Thursday, 25 April when they will re-appear before court.
The fifth suspect, a female Mozambican, also appeared for contravention of the Immigration Act, 2002 and was remanded in custody until 12 May 2024.

Motorist stabbed to death on N4
BRIT POS – DONKERHOEK – A motorist was stabbed to death and another three passengers robbed after the vehicle they were travelling in allegedly hit steel spikes on the road which forced them to a halt on Sunday evening, 31March around 22:00.
This happened on the N4 at the Donkerhoek offramp in Pretoria East. As they stopped to change the tyre, two thugs appeared from a bushy area, and stabbed one of the occupants with a knife, killing him and took everyone’s personal belongins.
When private security companies and police arrived on the scene, the suspects had already fled the scene.
