RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - This weekend (Sunday 10 December) marks exactly one year since the notorious Rockcliff Estate bridge in Cuckoo Avenue has been devastated if not completely washed away by storm water after an untold cloudburst in Rustenburg during the heavy rains of the previous season.
Currently the status of the Rockcliff bridge is that the restoration project is in an advanced stage if not entirely completed except for what seems to be a few minor problems such as water leaking dangerously close to high voltage electrical cables as well as the final painting of the road.

Meanwhile motorists might find it surprising that the bridge had not been opened for normal traffic in recent weeks following the restoration project spanning roughly four months. Rustenburg Herald has learnt that some issues surrounding payment of the contractor still need to be finalised before Cuckoo Avenue will be officially reopened.
