RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - Five accused ranging in ages from 32 to 43, are expected to appear in the Bafokeng Magistrates’ Court in Tlhabane on Wednesday, 3 April 2024, for formal bail applications.
Kholofelo Makuwa, Tshepo Sehulane, Christopher Majuwane, Thabo Motshwanedi, Donald Mpiyane and Collin Madisa previously appeared in court on Wednesday, 27 March, for charges on business robbery, unlawful possession of firearms, unlawful possession of ammunition, possession of dangerous weapons and possession of suspected stolen goods.

The accused were initially arrested at Kgale Section in Phokeng, near Rustenburg. According to reports, members of the community in Phokeng became suspicious of three males over the course of the weekend and informed the police. An operation was then carried out and three suspects were apprehended in the early hours of Sunday morning on 18 March. The police found the suspects in possession of cash, cell phones and other suspected stolen items. Further investigation led to the arrest of three more suspects and confiscation of a white Volkswagen Polo, which appeared to have been used during the commission of the crimes. The sixth suspect was later released.
Following their court appearance, the accused were then taken to Jane Furse in Limpopo, where they are expected to appear in court on Tuesday, 2 April, facing charges of robbery and other related matters.
