RUSTENBURG HERALD - SWARTRUGGENS - Pastor Venessa Joubert, project leader of the Christ Crisis Centre in Swartruggens extends an invitation to anyone interested in helping with this very important centre in Swartruggens, to join them on 27 January at 16:00 at 21 Fouche Street in Swartruggens.
This gathering is an opportunity to introduce you to a transformative project that is close to many hearts. The centre serves as a haven for abused women and children. "Together, let us unite our efforts to become stronger and more dynamic in addressing these critical issues".

The centre is scheduled to open in July 2024 and numerous preparations are underway for Phase 1. It is crucial to remember that when the police or Social Department bring a victim to the centre – be it a child, and/or adult woman, in distress – they often arrive with nothing.
It is the centre's responsibility to cater to their immediate needs, which include a range of basic toiletries such as toothbrushes and shampoo, diapers for babies, clothing, curtains, towels, cots, and bedding. Additionally, they manage the painting for both internal and external decorations. All these items are strictly monitored through an internal inventory system. They also need to equip the centre with necessary appliances eg, kitchen appliances, pots, pans etc.
To operate effectively, they require certification from both the Health Department and the Social Department, amongst other prerequisites.
Their team is actively engaging in training and attending courses offered by the Social Department to ensure they are fully prepared.
Looking ahead, they aim to purchase land next to the Christ Crisis Centre as well to cultivate vegetables in tunnels, which will contribute to their food supply.
The Christ Crisis Centre serves as a temporary safe haven for victims. In essence, they will be accommodated at the Christ Crisis Centre, which will become their provisional home.
The focus remains steadfast on the July 2024 opening. Through prayer and hard work, they are committed to making this vision a reality.
Thank you for the continued support. Should anybody be interested in helping in any form with this very important task at hand, please contact Pastor Venessa Joubert at 071 841 4656 or email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
