Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The Lenmed Wilmed Park Hospital and Heart Centre celebrated the official opening of its new, state-of-the-art heart centre.
The occasion took place on Thursday October 23 with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting ceremony led by the Provincial Department of Health Deputy Director-General, Polaki Mokatsane.
The launch event was attended by esteemed guests, healthcare professionals, and community members, reflecting widespread support for Lenmed’s ongoing commitment to delivering world class, patient-centred care. The establishment of the new heart centre underscores Lenmed’s strategic investment in enhancing access to advanced cardiac servi-ces and improving health outcomes for communities across the region.
Speaking at the opening, Lenmed’s CEO, Amil Devchand, highlighted the vision driving the initiative to provide comprehensive, cutting-edge cardiac care closer to home. “This Heart Centre is more than a medical facility; it represents our unwavering commitment to saving lives, serving with compassion, and strengthening the health of our community,” he said.
Equipped with the latest medical technology, the Heart Centre is designed to support a full spectrum of cardiac services - from emergency interventions and complex procedures to ongoing cardiac management.
In his keynote address, Mokatsane commended Lenmed Wilmed Park Hospital and Heart Centre for its dedication to healthcare innovation and patient access.
