Klerksdorp se AfriForum-tak het bekendgemaak dat die Tribunaal vroeër vandeesmaand aangevoer het dat die aansoeker van die ontwikkeling nie verskyningsbevoegdheid gehad het toe hulle op 6 Junie gesit het nie. Daar is ook gevind dat daar geen omgewingsimpakstudie vir die ontwikkeling goedgekeur is nie en dat die beplande ontwikkeling nie belyn is met Klerksdorp se Ruimtelike Ontwikkelingsraamwerk nie.
Contractor blackmailed, councillor arrested
Klerksdorp Record, Wolmaransstad - A ward councillor appeared in court twice last week on a charge of extortion.
According to Col Adéle Myburgh, police spokesperson, the arrests by the Anti-Gang Unit of the Councillor and two men, follow extensive investigations that indicated that a contractor, who was awarded a contract to build a supermarket in Ext 10, has allegedly been blackmailed since June 2024.
No alcohol, partying for matrics warn SAPS
Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The North West Provincial Joint Operational and Intelligence Structure (PROVJOINTS) led by the South African Police Service, has officially launched the annual Safer Festive Operation in Mahikeng on Thursday October 17.
The operation commenced on October 1 and will come to a close on January 31 next year. It will be executed in an intelligence phased approach. The first phase of the operation until November 30, is directed towards ensuring that schools examinations take place in a conducive, peaceful, safe and incident free environment.
Horror crash: Driver warned as investigation continues

Klerksdorp Rekord, Klerksdorp - Residents of Klerksdorp are baying for the blood of the driver of the Mercedes Benz that crashed into another car on Sunday night October 13, killing everyone inside.
He then left the scene of the accident in another vehicle, only to report to the police two days later. Klerksdorp Record can disclose that the man who was behind the steering wheel of the speeding Benz, is indeed a practising attorney in Klerksdorp. He reported at the police station on Tuesday morning October 15 where a warning statement was taken informing him of his rights.
Ceremony for new councillors
Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - Two new councillors for Matlosana Municipality were officially sworn in this week.
Moremedi Orapeleng Petros and Inge Wilken accepted their new titles with smiles. Senior Magistrate Marionette Kirsten did the honours at the Klerksdorp Magistrate’s Court on Monday October 14.
