Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The city is gearing up for one of the biggest armwrestling competitions in South Africa, and the public is urged to come test their strength and witness two of the strongest in the sport collide.
Askari Sports Bar is set to buzz on November 15 with intense competition across 18 categories and will conclude with two explosive supermatches featuring some of the nation’s top pullers.
The main event features Riekerd Bornman, a world-famous armwrestler known for his appearances at East vs West and ranked among the sport’s elite international athletes. Bornman, a proud South African who became Australia and New Zealand’s number one puller, returns home to face Koos Fourie, South Africa’s #1 left-handed and #2 right-handed competitor. Their clash will decide who truly stands as the strongest in the nation.
Adding even more intensity, Duvan Bornman will meet Niekie Fourie in a second supermatch - a Bornman vs Fourie family rivalry that’s sure to have the crowd on its feet.
The tournament features different weight categories for men, women, and juniors, with R1 000 in prize money per category. It also serves as a Provincial Qualifier, giving local athletes a chance to advance further in the sport. Spectators can enjoy live commentary, food stalls, music, and nonstop action from start to finish.
