Klerksdorp Record, Stilfontein - More than 2 000 shooters and match officials are active on the Frontier Shooting Range outside Stilfontein for World Shoot 2025.

This prestigious competition, presented by the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC), is for both handguns and revolvers. World Shoot 2025 is the twentieth World Shoot to take place and the second time it is held in South Africa.

 

Competition started on Tuesday September 16 with the opening ceremony scheduled to be held at Hoërskool Wesvalia on Sunday September 21. The main matches are scheduled from September 22 to 27.

The shoot off and awards ceremony will take place on Sunday September 28 - shoot off on the range and the awards ceremony at Star Race-way. Some 76 countries are represented with 1 766 competitors and 127 match officials. 

Teams from, among others, Australia, Brazil, Czech Republic, Spain, Germany, Norway, NZ, the Philippines, Sweden and the USA will compete. South Africa will be well-represented.

This event is a major injection into the local economy as guest houses, B&B’s and hotels in Klerksdorp and Potchefstroom are booked solid for the duration of the competition.

Competition will take place in the following categories: classic, open, production, production optics, revolver and standard. Spectators are welcome to attend and entrance is free. No shooting will take place on the day of the opening ceremony.
