Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The round robin stages of the Varsity Cup have ended and the semi-finalists have been decided in dramatic fashion. The NWU Eagles trampled CUT 117-19, but ended fifth on the log, meaning they will not play in the playoffs.
UFS showed their pedigree by beating FNB Tuks in Pretoria, the Shimlas won with a bonus points to put them in 4th spot just one above the Eagles and Maties cruised past FNB Wits to claim top spot on the log and a home semi-final. This loss sees the Witsies stay bottom of the log to be automatically relegated to the FNB Varsity Shield.
Medal haul for kickboxers
The students of Stilfontein Pyro Kickboxing Club participated in the recent NW Kickboxing Trails in Rustenburg. They were all chosen to represent the province at the National SA Kickboxing Championships at the end of April in Newcastle, KZN. They are Chuan van Niekerk, bronze for continuous fighting and bronze for points fighting, Ivan Murray, gold for low kick light fighting and gold for continuous fighting, Shando van Niekerk, silver for low kick light fighting, bronze for continuous fighting and 4th place for points fighting, Vian Booyse, gold for continuous fighting and gold for points fighting) and (front) Vinay Kitching, gold for points fighting, Keanen van Niekerk, silver for continuous fighting and bronze for low kick light fighting and Biané Kriel, gold for low kick light fighting and gold for continuous fighting.
Jong ruiters wys hul staal
Klerksdorp Rekord, Klerksdorp - ‘n Boetie en sussie van Klerksdorp, Franco van Heerden (10) en Riané Groenewald (7), het onlangs aan die Western Mounted Games in Lichtenburg deelgeneem.
Hierdie twee ruiters het aan die spele deelgeneem as deel van Azar Western Mounted Games en na slegs drie maande se oefening presteer hulle al klaar baie goed. Die klub se ruiters het in 10 kategorieë deelgeneem tydens die kompetisie 21-22 Maart.

Klerksdorp boytjie MJ Mostert had a dream debut with the Eagles on Monday night March 24 scoring 12 points. The Eagles trampled UJ 52-7 under heavy rain in Potchefstroom - with Chyle van Zyl bagging a hat-trick.
