Lentswe, Klerksdorp - McGenius Academy hosted the Dad’s Guidance Initiative recently. In effort to combat the matters and as a celebration of both father’s day and youth day, McGenius Academy NPC hosted the Dad’s Guidance Initiative on June 20. The programme was in collaboration with SAVF Rethabile Home and various stakeholders including SAPS, Social Development, Correctional Services, Department of Justice and many more.

“Many problems in society today stem from the boy child. Statistics show that the suicide rates of the males are higher than those of females.

“The boy child is expected by society to learn so much and all by themselves, this as a result leaves us with men without emotional intelligence or a sense of responsibility.

“Many boy children are troubled, broken and live conflict because all attention is given to the girl child, but who are we raising these girl children for?’’ asked the present Mrs Bold 2025, Amelia Konote.

The boys attending the program are mostly orphans and are in their teenage years who in closure expressed gratitude for seeing the love they got from parents, stakeholders and leaders.

A few games were played and some entertainment activities during the session.
