Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Two pedestrians were seriously injured on the morning of Thursday, November 6, when a taxi, whose brakes reportedly failed, struck them. The accident occurred just after 07:40. Emergency services were quickly on the scene, and the injured, a male and female, were transported to hospitals in Klerksdorp. It was initially reported on social media that a total of nine people were injured, but the occupants of the taxi were only treated for shock. Lentswe has learned that the driver stated the taxi’s brakes failed as he approached the traffic light at City Mall. He then swerved into the left lane to avoid a collision, striking the pedestrians.
