Lentswe, Orkney - It was a busy long weekend for the police in the province. 
The Anti-Gang Unit arrested three Lesotho foreign nationals in Kanana on Friday morning April 25, after being found in possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition. The first suspect, Rethabile Johannes Ntoyi, was arrested for illegal possession of a Norinco firearm with eight rounds of ammunition. The other two suspects, Seronthe Nthipu, and Thabo Mphinyame, were found in possession of an unlicensed revolver, four rounds of ammunition and spent 9mm cartridge.

Lentswe, Klerksdorp - A local businessman was kidnapped earlier this month and his body was found at a dam on the outskirts of Orkney last week. A multidisciplinary intelligence driven operation involving the Provincial Anti-Gang Unit, Organised Crime Unit,  Provincial Detectives, Directorate of Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI), Klerksdorp Tactical Response Team (TRT), led to the arrest of suspects who were linked with the kidnapping and robbery of Hasani Daniel Maluleka (62) in Wilkoppies.

Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Mmatlala Machuba, a 21-year-old young woman born and raised in the city, is the new Miss Global Princess SA. She is planning a homecoming convoy/escort through Klerksdorp for this weekend! She is pursuing her undergraduate degree at NWU in Potchefstroom. Her roots, however, are fixed at Klerksdorp Technical High School, where she was honoured to serve as Junior Miss THS in 2018.

Through guided meditation, Zaza helped attendees tap into their inner strength, promoting relaxation, reflection, and renewal. The session’s powerful energy and insights likely left a lasting impact on the women.

Jerry Phele, the legend of emziniwezisizwa, invited local community builder Jerry Griqua and Gmesh Itumiseng to celebrate the legend, Nandi Nyembe. She is a huge TV star who is now in a wheelchair.
