Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Agriculture MEC Madoda Sambatha was rushed to hospital in Klerksdorp earlier this week after he was involved in an accident on the R30 near Ventersdorp.
He was returning home to Klerksdorp from Rustenburg, said Khoza Pelele, ANC Caucus chairperson. The Chief Whip of the North West Provincial Legislature (NWPL), Motlalepula Rosho on Tuesday July 16 wished Sambatha a speedy recovery.

Lentswe, Klerksdorp - One of the robbers who robbed a store inside Matlosana Mall last week, was arrested.
He is expected to appear in the Klerksdorp Magistrates’ Court for armed robbery. Brig Sabatha Mokgwabone, police spokesperson, said the accused and three accomplices entered a retail store at Matlosana Mall on Friday July 12, at approximately 15:00. They robbed the store of cellphones and cash, then fled on foot.

Lentswe, Rustenburg - In the recent HIV/Aids, STI’s & TB (HAST) Forum, the North West Department of Health awarded different districts in the province for their performance in implementing health programmes that in turn contribute to changing the overall health of citizens. In these awards the Dr Kenneth Kaunda District was applauded and awarded for championing the National Department of Health’s 95-95-95 Strategy.

Lentswe, Orkney - An inquest has been opened by the police following the death of four soldiers who were on duty in Orkney as part of Operation Vala Umgodi - an operation that deals with illegal mining activities. President Cyril Ramaphosa also extended his condolences to the bereaved families of the fallen soldiers. They were deployed on a 24 hour shift at Shaft 3, a dormant mining shaft situated in Orkney, near the disused Oppenheimer stadium which has been a hot spot for illegal mining.
