Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The two men found murdered and dumped near Pietermaritzburg are not Christiaan van Blerk and Donovan van der Walt.
A social media post caused quite a stir earlier this week when it was rumoured that the two men found brutally murdered are the two men from Klerksdorp who went missing more than three weeks ago. Col Adele Myburgh, police spokesperson, confirmed that the two men found are not the two missing Klerksdorp men.
The two murdered men were discovered in the early hours of Monday morning July 28 in the Snathing GG area near Pietermaritzburg. According to reports, they appear to have been murdered elsewhere and their bodies dumped in the area.
Van Blerk and Van der Walt disappeared after they were sent to buy spares in Klerkindustria. They haven’t been seen since. The owner of the bakkie they were travelling in, is offering a reward of R2 000 for info leading to the recovery of the bakkie. Latest information suggests the vehicle was spotted in Newlands in Johannesburg.
