Sewer problems an ongoing issue

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - Daily sewer spills in every town and township in the Kosh Area are a health hazard for the community and create irreversible damage to the environment.

Klerksdorp Record gets sent videos daily of sewer spills of which some have been ongoing for weeks with nothing being done. Orkney’s Sheridan Street sewer spill is a disaster for people living in the area, and despite sporadic work being done at the drain, the sewage problem there has been continuing for years now.

In Kanana, Lucia Bojosi, has asked Klerksdorp Record for help regarding a sewer problem in Lerato Street, Ext 3. “Sewer has been running through our yards continuously. We have reported the matter to the relevant department at municipality numerous times, with no assistance. I personally contacted the councilor for Ward 25,still no help. You are my last resort, I have exhausted all options, I’m not getting any help.’’

Municipal account statements found thrown away

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - An undelivered batch of Matlosana Municipal statements found thrown away in La Hoff caused an uproar last week on social media.

A young man, Mkhulo Piet Kewana arrived at Klerksdorp Record’s office on Friday morning August 15 with more than a handful of closed envelopes that he discovered on a “dumping site’’ next to the road close to the Portuguese Hall.

He knows that people contracted by the municipality are paid to deliver these statements to mailboxes in the area. He walked to our office with the package because he didn’t know what to do with it.

Dié versoek kom in reaksie op die burgerregteorganisasie se kommer oor die wettigheid van die munisipaliteit se 2025/2026-begroting en tariefgoedkeurings.

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - All is not well at the Matlosana Fresh Produce Market - even a blind man can see it.

These words belong to a local market agent who asked to remain anonymous in fear of retribution when he spoke out about the dire conditions at this active economic hub of the city. With the filth they can still work, but what irks market agents the most, is the continuous late payments received from the municipality. So much so, that some suppliers have taken their produce elsewhere, leading to a shortage in some fresh produce which in turn will hit consumers with price hikes.

Mans terug in stad en in selle

Klerksdorp Rekord, Klerksdorp - Die twee Klerksdorpers wat amper ‘n maand gelede spoorloos verdwyn het, is terug in die stad en bevind hulle agter tralies.

Christiaan van Blerk (34) and Donovan van der Walt (25) het op 14 Julie verdwyn en nadat landwyd na hulle gesoek is, het die polisie die twee in Kempton Park opgespoor. Daar is aanvanklik gemene spel vermoed, maar soos die ondersoek gevorder het, het dit geblyk die twee mans sit self agter hul verdwyning.
