Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - Two local sportsmen, Tyler and Dusty Day, competed in the Trans Agulhas that was held over the holidays in Plettenberg Bay.

The Day brothers showed their mettle and ended in the top 20 overall with a time of 08:06:20. Tyler was the pilot and Dusty the co-pilot. Both are known for their prowess on bicycles, this time their weapon of choice was a rubberduck. Tyler won the Argus Cycle Race in 2011.

The Trans Agulhas is described as the world’s toughest inflatable boat challenge. It starts every year on December 28 in Plettenberg Bay and ended on December 31 in Struisbaai.

It is a fast-paced, action-packed water sports event with over 40 inflatable boats battling it out in the waves.

This year, conditions on the water were tough due to bad weather and the route had to be adjusted each day.

For both, it was an adventure they will not forget.
