Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The Traditional International Shotokan Karate Association (Tiska) hosted its highly anticipated national and international championship on September 12 and 13.

The event brought together karateka from across South Africa and abroad, including a strong team from England, in a weekend filled with discipline, determination, and world-class karate. Adding prestige to the championship was the presence of Tiska’s founder, Gursharan Sahota, who travelled specially to attend the event.

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The Klerksdorp Wrestling Club hosted a commemorative tournament last weekend to mark its 50th anniversary. 

This special occasion was organised to honour the visionaries who, in 1975, established a facility committed to promoting youth wrestling in the community. Their mission was to foster discipline, nurture both body and mind, and equip young people with the resilience needed to face life’s challenges.

Dawid Payne en Emmerentia Kruger het albei op 20 September hul 250ste parkrun by Matlosana Bird Parkrun voltooi. 

Lungiswa Mathumbu completed her 100th parkrun at Matlosana Bird Parkrun on September 20.

 

‘n Jukskeitoernooi met 23 spanne het op Saterdag 13 September in Klerksdorp plaasgevind. Die A-afdeling het vyf spanne gehad, B-afdeling nege, en C-afdeling ook nege. Volgens die organiseerders is dit belowend as die B en C afdelings so goed doen, want dit beteken jukskei groei. Die Louis Lategan Trips is bygewoon deur Bothaville, Potchefstroom, Kroonstad, Leeudoringstad,  Wolmaransstad, Klerksdorp, Swartruggens, Lichtenburg en Vereeniging.
