Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The popular Battle of the Giants dance competition is back and now has some international flair.

In this annual showcase of talent and exceptional dance routines, the South African Body of Dance (SABOD) and International Dance Organisation (IDO) joined forces to host the week-long dance competition that is held at the Superbowl at Sun City.

This inaugural event, dubbed the “IDO African Championships - Battle of the Giants” saw 360 competitors and 41 dance schools (from South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Hungary) compete in the first week of the school holiday.

Adele Reyneke (links) het haar 250 ste parkrun die afgelope naweek gedoen. Mick Gallagher (regs) het sy 350 ste voltooi. Hulle het die mylpale by die Matlosana Bird parkrun bereik. Ondersteuners Bridget en Alan Kleu is by hulle.

 

 

 

 

Agt legendes is die afgelope naweek by NW se jukskei legendedag vereer. Die A-afdeling is gewen deur die Wingnuts, B-afdeling deur die Kiewiete en C-afdeling deur Hartbeesfontein.  Die klub het vyf nuwe lede bygekry en is beïndruk met die Matlosana Munisipaliteit wat die klub se bane voorberei. Op die foto is Willie Botha, Danie Oosthuizen, Andries Kemp (kaptein) en Nic van Rooyen (wenners van die A-afdeling).

 

 

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - South Africa’s top Drill, Dance and Majorettes athletes will showcase their talent this weekend at the SA Nationals being held at Hoërskool Wesvalia.

The Federation of Dance, Drill, Cheerleading and Majorette Sport South Africa (FDDCMSA) invites locals to attend the championship that kicks off on Saturday July 12. The opening ceremony will be held on Friday July 11.

More than 1 000 pre-primary, primary school, high school, and tertiary athletes from all over South Africa are expected at the event. The grand finale and closing ceremony will be on Thursday July 16.

Tickets are available via Quicket. Tickets are R70 per day for adults, R50 per day for pensioners and R30 per day for children younger than 12. 

A championship pass will set you back R360. The entire event will be broadcast on SuperSport Schools.
