Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Matlosana’s Executive Mayor, Cllr James Tsolela, congratulated 19-year-old Kgotatso Sibi from Jouberton who was invited by the Bloemfontein Rugby Academy to take part in their program in order to nurture his rugby skills and talent. Sibi left for Bloemfontein on January 30. The young sportsman comes from a small family of six. 
He discovered his interest in rugby while attending Keurhof in 2016. His older brother took him to a rugby match, and the team decided to use him, which sparked his love for the sport. He also played for school teams like THS, Wesvalia and Schoonspruit. Mayor Tsolela gave Sibi a fitting send-off last week encouraging him to become the next Siya Kolisi.

Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Teams and clubs gathered in the Mayoral Hall to receive information on the rules and regulations on players’ status.
The regional president, Orapeleng Setlhare, who is also SAFA’s provincial competition chairperson and an NEC member of Competition Committee, was accompanied by members of the Regional Executive Committee, on Sunday January 14.

Lentswe, Alabama - 360° Diski Klinix hosted a soccer tournament during the last school term on December 15 at Alabama Stadium. The tournament consisted of 4 teams where the main objective is to focus on the u/17’s to try and identify potential young talent and pave them a way for greater levels in future.

Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa reclaimed first place in a tightly-contested CAF Champions League Group A despite being held 0-0 by Pyramids of Egypt in Pretoria on Sunday December 10.
Sundowns occupy first place on goal difference, ahead of TP Mazembe from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Nouadhibou of Mauritania and Pyramids, with all four clubs having four points.

Lentswe, Soweto - Orlando Pirates made it two Soweto derby wins out of two after beating Moroka Swallows 2-0 at the Orlando Stadium this week. The Buccaneers claimed the local bragging rights against arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs last month following a 1-0 win and Evidence Makgopa’s first-half strike and an own-goal from Sipho Sibiya on 72 minutes saw them get the better of the Dube Birds as well.
