  • ATKV skenk leesprogram

    NOORDWESTER – SANNIESHOF - Die Afrikaanse Taal- eb Kultuurvereniging (ATKV)  besef dat kinders veral in die grondslagfase sukkel om te lees. Lees met begrip is nog ‘n groter probleem. 
    In samewerking met kundiges is ‘n leesprogram ontwikkel wat in laerskole gebruik kan word. Dit staan bekend as “Ek kan lees” en onderwysers ontvang aanlyn opleiding oor hoe om die leesprogram te implementeer.

     

  • Pair apprehended for a spree of business and house robberies

    NOORDWESTER – ZEERUST - Collaborative efforts by the police in Zeerust, Phokeng and Rustenburg led to the apprehension of two suspects on 4 December for a spree of business and house robberies. The crimes were allegedly committed in Zeerust, Madikwe, Boitekong and Rustenburg in May, November and December this year.

Through research conducted by the GROGL Safety and Security Sector, the organisation warns that various crimes typically increase during the holiday period as movement, shopping activity, and social gatherings peak.
