NOORDWESTER – MOLOPO - The Molopo Magistrates’ Court has postponed the case involving seven accused individuals facing charges of fraud, corruption, and contravention of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) to 25 August.
The postponement is to allow the defence teams adequate time to consult with their clients.
Pastor sentenced to fifteen years imprisonment for robbery
NOORDWESTER – MOLOPO - The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) welcomes the 15-year direct imprisonment sentence handed down by the Molopo Regional Court to Petrus Phuthego Gasengake (48), who was convicted of robbery with aggravating circumstances.
The conviction stems from an incident that occurred on 4 April 2021 at the complainant’s home in Ramosadi Village near Mmabatho. Gasengake, who is a pastor at a local church, visited the home of a female congregant.

Murderer sentenced to seven years imprisonment
NOORDWESTER – BIESIESVLEI - The Lichtenburg Regional court handed down a seven years imprisonment sentence, plus a three year suspended sentence to Daniel Modise (25) on Wednesday, 28 May. Modise was sentenced after being found guilty of the murder of his friend, Thabang Setlhodi (24).
Biesiesvlei SAPS arrest seven thieves
NOORDWES – BIESIESVLEI - On Saturday, 31 May the police in Biesiesvlei were busy with regular patrols when they spotted a white Toyota Hilux looking suspicious near Omkyk farm.
The vehicle was stopped immediately and searched and six 50 kg bean bags were found.
