STELLALANDER-DEBEN: The police in Deben clamped down on crime the past weekend with multiple successes and arrests including possession of suspected stolen copper and dealing in drugs.

 

 In the first incident, an 18-year-old man was apprehended for possession of suspected stolen copper cable, while members were conducting routine stop and searches on Saturday, 3 February at about 13:30. In an unrelated case, a 23-year-old male was arrested on 02 February after members acted on a tip off. Information led the members to a scrapyard where the suspect was trying to sell alleged stolen copper cables. The third incident occurred on Saturday, 3 February at 15:30, when police members arrested three men aged 18, 22 and 24 respectively for dealing in drugs in Deben. The members acted on information received from community patrollers. 
Dagga, tik and cash were confiscated during the arrest. All the suspects are expected to appear soon in the Kathu Magistrate’s Court.
