BRITS POS – BRITS - The fight against crime through Operation Shanela continues with numerous success stories after 676 suspects were arrested for various crimes between Thursday, 12 October and Monday, 16 October.
Of the 676 arrested suspects, 226 were wanted for murder, attempted murder, rape, assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm, assault common, house robbery and business robbery. 77 undocumented persons were taken in for screening.

BRITS POS – BRITS – Aan die stuur van sake by Die Hoërskool Wagpos is die nuwe skoolhoof, mnr Adriaan Joubert en volgens hom is dit ‘n groot eer om voort te bou op die #trotswagpos tradisie.
Hy het aan die Universiteit van Pretoria onderwys studeer en ook sy honneursgraad daar verwerf.
Sy bekroonde loopbaan het by Afrikaans Hoër Seunskool begin, waarna hy onder andere waarnemende hoof van ‘n skool buite Vaalwater en later hoof van Hoërskool Ellisras was.

BRITS POS – BRITS – Martin Lampbrecht, ‘n gr.6-leerling van Laerskool Brits, het gedurende die skoolvakansie kragtige redenaarstoesprake, as deel van ‘n ADHD en Outisme bewusmakingsveldtog, in die Paarl, Kaap gelewer. Oktober is ADHD-maand (Aandaggebrek-hiperaktiwiteitsindroom) en Martin, wat self met ADHD gediagnoseer is, het verlede jaar besluit om te praat oor dié onderwerp wat hom na aan die hart lê en deur die loop van die jaar het hy die toespraak in redenaarsformaat by 24 kompetisies in Noordwes en in Gauteng gelewer.

Die minister van polisie, Bheki Cele het Dinsdag, 10 Oktober 2023, ‘n besoek aan Brits polisiestasie gebring om ‘n memorandum van die gemeenskap, onder leiding van Petrus Phakamile Sitho in ontvangs te neem met eise om die polisie se fokus en hulpmiddels regverdig, ook na plaasmoorde te skuif.
In antwoord daarop het Cele belowe dat hy binne sewe dae op die eise in die memorandum sal reageer.

The South African Nuclear Energy Corporation (Necsa) has formally requested Mineral Resources and Energy Minister Gwede Mantashe to change its mandate, to allow it to become involved in the generation of electricity from nuclear energy according to Necsa CEO, Loyiso Tyabashe. Currently, only the State-owned national electricity utility Eskom is permitted to operate nuclear power plants (NPPs).
