RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - The Bojanala Platinum District Municipality became a hive of activities when Deputy President Paul Mashatile visited its local municipalities, namely, Rustenburg and Moses Kotane, on 15 and 16 March 2024. During his visit Deputy President Mashatile amongst others, unveiled and handed over newly completed projects and infrastructure to Executive Mayors and communities in the region. These icluded a Primary School to serve Seraleng and Paardekraal communities built to the tune of R26.3 million, a multi million rand Medical Centre in Tlhabane equipped with state of-the art X-Ray equipment, a donation of school shoes, school uniforms, stationery, sanitary towels to learners, and a donation of goats, sheep, cattle, bulls, agricultural equipment and garden tools to subsistence farmers around Boshoek.

During the visit of the Deputy President, MEC’s, MMC’s and Councillors furthermore handed over 1 800 tittle deeds to potential homeowners around the Bojanala District. In the process rehabilitated roads, road markings, patched potholes and stormwater were completed. Motorists with outstanding traffic fines were tracked down and made to settle their debts. The Deputy President’s visit marked the official launch of the phase 3 of the Thuntsha Lerole Accelerated Service Delivery Program, initiated by the North West Provincial Government with the objective to unblock bottlenecks in service delivery at local municipalities in collaboration with the District Municipality. 
“This is a shining example of District Development Model (DDM), as initiated by President Cyril Ramaphosa in his Budget Speech in 2019 Mashatile said. 
Its objective is to draw resources from all sectors of society, namely, local and district municipalities, business and civil organizations, with the view to consolidate and implement priority needs and projects of all communities “, Deputy President Mashatile said during his engagement session with communities at the packed Tlhabane sportgrounds.
