The Rustenburg Mayoral outreach program (Imbizo) has begun in earnest at Phatsima township on Monday (9 October). This is done in line with the planned schedule for the entire municipality.
Cllr Thabang Rampou (MMC for Technical and Infrastructure Services) lead the program on behalf of the Executive Mayor, Shiela Mabale-Huma.
This public participation exercise is prescribed by legislation (Chapter 4 of the Municipal Systems Act, Act 32 of 2000 as amended) to allow the community the opportunity to participate in activities that involve their daily lives, giving expression to the system of participatory governance.
