An increasingly problematic situation with regard to heavy traffic congestions and the lack of working traffic lights has reached new heights on the R24 in recent weeks. In addition to the looting of lamp posts, streetlights and electrical substations, looters seem to have discovered the lucrative spinoff in the stripping of four-way traffic light systems, causing havoc during early morning, mid afternoon and late afternoon peak hours.
