Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The Rotary Club of Klerksdorp welcomed its new president, Willie Venter, at a glamorous Gatsby-themed event.
The club ushered in a new era in July with the induction of Venter as its new president. The event dazzled guests with vintage flair and celebration.
President Venter, known for his deep passion for bees and environmental sustainability, delivered a heartfelt inaugural speech that seamlessly tied his personal interests with Rotary International’s 2025-2026 theme of “Unite for Good”. “We can achieve incredible things when we come together with purpose,” Venter said.
“Just as bees work in harmony for the health of the hive, we too must collaborate to strengthen our communities.”
Under his leadership, the club will place a renewed focus on environmental initiatives, community cohesion, and sustainable development - all guided by Rotary’s values of service above self.
The evening was not only a celebration of leadership but also a vision of what’s to come: a united, purposeful Rotary year ahead.
