Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The Lions Clubs of Klerksdorp and Stilfontein announced their newly-elected presidents during a special ceremony held on July 12.
Mina van Biljon was appointed as the new president of Lions Club Klerksdorp, while Shelby van Schalkwyk will lead the Stilfontein branch. The evening also marked the induction of three new members into the Lions family: Marietjie Meyer, Brian Wilson, and Lindie Wrensch.
Mamoroesi Seemane was officially sworn in as a Councillor for the City of Matlosana on Monday July 14 at the Klerksdorp Magistrate Court. The ceremony was officiated by Senior Magistrate, Marionette Kirsten. Clr Seemane is a proportional representative (PR) councillor for the DA.

Dit was al uitweg vir die familie nadat Petro ook met Huntingtons se siekte gediagnoseer is wat beteken het dat sy versorging nodig het. Dit is ‘n seldsame genetiese afwyking wat onbeheerde beweging, kognitiewe inkorting en emosionele probleme veroorsaak.
Klerksdorp Photography Club held its annual prize giving this week with Monique van Rooyen taking home almost all the trophies up for grabs. This photo she took in Istanbul, Turkey of a food vendor was after careful scrutinizing announced as the Photo of the Year. It was chosen from 10 photographs and judged by the Southern Suburbs Gauteng Camera Club. Monique is a master photographer and enjoys one of the highest rankings in the local club. On Tuesday July 15 she was also the winner of the Photographer of the Year award among several other accolades.
* Linda Bronkhorst is the junior photographer of the year. She also received the trophy for best nature photo.
* Karen Coetzee won the best mobile photo award.
* Lourens Botha received the Photo-journalism Award.
* Shawn Bubb is the still life photographer of the year.
