Lentswe, Klerksdorp - The Dr Kenneth Kaunda Chess Region is celebrating an important milestone as its president, Ogone Molaolwa, officially qualified as a Candidate Provincial Arbiter. This achievement marks a significant step in his continued journey of growth, leadership, and service to chess in the province. Molaolwa’s rise through the ranks has been steady and impressive. In 2025, he successfully completed the required examinations to become a School Supervisor, demonstrating his strong grasp of both the technical and administrative sides of the game. His dedication to fair play, tournament standards, and youth development has placed him among the most active chess administrators in the Province.

As president of the Dr Kenneth Kaunda Chess Region, he has worked tirelessly to build a vibrant and competitive chess community. Under his leadership, the region has increased participation in local events, strengthened relations with schools, and provided young players with more opportunities to compete.

His new status as a Candidate Provincial Arbiter means he is now better equipped to oversee higher-level tournaments, ensure compliance with FIDE and CHESS SA regulations, and support the growing demand for quality arbiters in the province. This accomplishment also reflects his commitment to continuous learning - a trait that inspires many young chess officials and players.

His dedication, professionalism, and passion for the game continue to uplift the Dr Kenneth Kaunda region and contribute to the broader development of chess in SA.
