Lentswe, Stilfontein - To visit Kenya and actually stand on the equator was a dream come true for Sheila Bome from Stilfontein. This mom of two boys only read about the equator in textbooks learning Geography up to matric so to get the opportunity to visit Kenya was a once in a lifetime opportunity for her. “Being a 100% village girl from Taung, the equator felt just like line-on-a-map thing - something abstract, something that I use to only imagine in my head. So the fact that I actually stood on it with my own feet is very special to me,’’ she told Lentswe. Sheila works at the Stilfontein police station. She visited Kenya last year.
